Where is the direction of music is going? "Wherever the strong cats take It" - Legendary jazz drummer -Roy Haynes-
Reflected in his musical endeavors are more than fifty years of dedication and passion to music. A passion that was ignited when Hubert’s father started teaching him to play the piano at an early age.
Hubert's versatility encompasses jazz, r&b, gospel, dance, and pop music. The list of artists Hubert has played with, recorded, produced, written and arranged for is extensive including several artists that have sampled and covered his music. The list includes: Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, Prince, Whitney Houston, Miles Davis, Biggie Smalls,Madonna, Prince, Teddy Pendergrass, Rick Ross, Yo Yo, Rakim, NWA, Gary Bartz, Jackie McLean, Roberta Flack, Cheryl Lynn, Mtume, Stephanie Mills, Mariah Carey, Norman Conners, and Jocelyn Brown. Hubert also released his only solo album in 1976 titled “Esoteric Funk."
However, Hubert's most noted work came out of an eight year collaboration with James "D-Train" Williams: a five album catalog of which Hubert was the co-founder, producer, co-writer/ aranger and keyboardist. Together, they wrote the number one dance classics “You’re the one for me”, “ Keep On”, “Music”, as well as the r&b single “Something’s on Your Mind."
Hubert is now finishing his soon to be released EP “Hubert Eaves III Drops” (Volume One) dedicated to his father (R.I.P. - 2021) on his own label "Droppings."
